The Light Collection by Elenoa Tauialo
Weaving Science and the Spiritual to display the Invisible
Elenoa Tauialo
“There is more that exists than what meets our natural eye.”
Elenoa’s Light Collection was submitted as part of the 2022 Creative Confidence & Calling Exhibition. It is a series of photos that have been artistically edited to create mesmerising vistas into the unseen world. A world where dualities collide and opposites overlap. An alien landscape that exists outside of our perception but influences our day to day.

Elenoa drew heavy inspiration from Tour of the Electromagnetic Spectrum by Ginger Butcher, which goes into detail about each frequency of light and it’s properties and how it is used by NASA to study other worlds and the deep mysteries of the cosmos.
Armed with this knowledge, Elenoa experimented with different reflections and refractions to reveal hidden qualities in her photos.

“Science shows how our natural eye has limited capability to see other forms of Light because our wavelengths are too small or too large to detect these light types.”

“Similarly, this could be said about Faith. Our natural eyes are limited in their capability to see other realms, dimensions or in the Spiritual but it exists for believers.”

“Taking these simplicities and also complexities, I’ve tried to present different perspectives of Light…the Science and the Spiritual woven together to display the invisible.”

This series of striking images is a powerful addition to the exhibition. Elenoa’s resourceful and deeply explored approach of bringing her concepts to life is truly remarkable.
This series of prints is available for purchase and offer a rich, introspective set piece for deep conversation and existential contemplation.
